Source Water Pathways - Recommended for Grades 4 - 6

Source water pathways including river systems, aquifers, lakes and oceans all hold water essential to our daily lives. How much of this water is available to us? Where does our drinking water come from? What do we need to do to ensure that clean, fresh water flows under and above ground to quench the thirst of all plants and animals? Engage your students in experiments, activities, presentations and demonstrations that serve as a touchstone when called upon to make future decisions.

Fee: Your Site: $120 (maximum 30 students), $10 Travel & Transportation Fee per class At the Conservancy: $8 per person ($80.00 minimum per class)

*Half day program at the Conservancy (Can be combined with another class for a full day field Experience)

PDE Academic Standards addressed include:
3.3.4.A4 - Recognize Earth’s different water resources, including both fresh and saltwater. Describe phase changes in the forms of water on Earth.
3.3.5.A4 - Explain the basic components of the water cycle.
4.2.5.C - Identify physical, chemical, and biological factors that affect water quality.
4.2.6.C - Identify natural and human-made factors that affect water quality.
4.2.8.A - Describe factors that affect the quality of ground and surface waters.
